When moving the teeth to have optimal occlusion during orthodontia care, consider assessing and treating the rest of the body. The jaw is influenced by the joints above and below, the cranial suture joints and the spinal skeletal system. Thus it is wise to get the rest of the body symmetrical in alignment and mobiilty while getting your bite and teeth aligned.
Orthopedic assessment & treatment, specialties in pelvic floor, jaw, cranium & spine. The jaw is influenced by the neck and cranium; it does not function independently. So a just a few degrees of malrotation in cervical vertebrae can create dysfunctional movement patterns in the jaw. I few millimeters off center in the hip is not a big deal but in the jaw. being that it is so small, is significant
I use various manual therapies, neuromuscular re-education, and therapeutic exercises to treat dysfunctional movement patterns in pelvic floor and TMJ/jaw and throughout the entire body.
